Jackie Monoson (she/her) is an independent filmmaker and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She makes horror that's pretty funny and comedy that's kind of scary.
You can find Jackie on set reminding people to drink water & eat snacks. 𓁙
After graduating from NYU with a BFA in Studio Art and Minor in Psychology (2017), Jackie started working on film sets as a production assistant and found her passion as a film producer.
Jackie's recent projects include producing the queer, surrealist horror-comedy POSSUM (2024) which will be screening at Slamdance Film Festival in February 2025!
Jackie’s work has been recognized by festivals and streaming platforms globally, including Academy Awards-qualifying Hollyshorts Film Film Festival, Final Girls Berlin Film Festival, Bushwick, Hulu and PBS.
Jackie has also produced content for clients such as Nike North America, The Museum of the City of New York, The National Police Accountability Project, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Entertainment Weekly, Apple TV+, Apple Music+ and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Recently, Jackie produced the short film, Women Do Not Poop (2024) in a showcase of modern silent films commissioned by Isabella Rossellini. Jackie also produced the surreal tragicomedy pilot PALOOKAVILLE (2023) which received the Grand Jury Prize at the Slamdance Film Festival. She produced the comedic short film YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND (2023) and also served as Associate Producer on the short film, Remote (2023) streaming now on HULU.
Jackie is a producer on the feature length documentary, UNVEILED: Joyce Tenneson & the Heroine's Journey which aired on PBS WORLD in December 2024.
